For three decades, MaterCare International has been dedicated to carrying out the mission of Evangelium Vitae, the Gospel of Life. As an international network of Catholic obstetricians and gynecologists, MCI has championed ethical, compassionate, and life-affirming maternal healthcare, especially in developing regions.

Inspired by the “yes” of Mary, our mission is rooted in the sacredness of motherhood and the dignity of every human life.

By joining us, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Celebrate 30 years of life-saving impact

  • Engage with leading Catholic medical and theological experts

  • Deepen your faith and professional mission

  • Network with like-minded professionals and organizations

  • Renew your commitment to ethical maternal healthcare

MaterCare International was born from a profound ethical challenge in modern medicine. In 1976, Dr. Robert Walley courageously spoke out about discrimination faced by Catholic physicians who refused to compromise their moral convictions.

His question, How can one serve mothers and children with integrity while remaining faithful to Christ?, led to the founding of MCI. Today, that same question continues to guide our work.

We warmly invite you to journey with us as we prepare for this extraordinary gathering. Through your prayer, participation, and partnership, you help sustain a mission that saves lives and honors God’s gift of motherhood.

We look forward to welcoming you to Rome in 2026.
