Walking in Mary and Joseph’s Footsteps

As we light the second candle of Advent this Sunday, symbolizing Peace, we pause to reflect on where Mary and Joseph might have been on their journey to Bethlehem.

By now, they would have traveled several days from Nazareth, covering rugged terrain and enduring the challenges of a long and uncertain journey. Perhaps they were nearing the foothills of Judea, surrounded by rocky landscapes and the chill of the approaching winter nights. Every step brought them closer to Bethlehem, yet their path was filled with physical strain and trust in God’s guidance.

This week, we invite you to continue your participation in the Walk to Bethlehem Challenge, inspired by Mary and Joseph’s determination. At this stage, you might have completed around 70,000 steps—halfway through the 140,000-step goal symbolizing their 90-mile journey. If you’re catching up, there’s still time to step into the story and join us!

Why Your Journey Matters

Each step you take not only honors Mary and Joseph’s journey but also supports vulnerable mothers worldwide who face their own challenging paths to receive safe maternal care.

Through your steps and generosity:
