Travel Tips for the Rome Conference

• Ensure your passport is valid for at least six months beyond your planned travel dates, if required for your nationality.

• Complete your registration with our office, call us at 1-709-579-6472 for assistance.

Conference Preparation

• Keep your conference badge with you at all times, as it may be required for entry.

• Exchange contact information with colleagues or fellow pilgrims in case you become separated. We will have WhatsApp group for the conference.

• Arrive early for keynote sessions and liturgical celebrations, as security screening and seating may take additional time.

• If you plan to visit a historic site, please ensure you buy your tickets in advance if needed, especially for tours and special location access (The Vatican Museum or The Colosseum).

Packing Suggestions

• Pack comfortable walking shoes. Rome's historic streets often feature uneven cobblestones.

• Bring modest clothing suitable for visiting churches and religious sites. Shoulders and knees should generally be covered.

• Carry a reusable water bottle, sunscreen, a hat, and a light rain jacket depending on the season.

• Include any prescription medications in your carry-on luggage along with copies of your prescriptions.

Getting Around

• Rome has an extensive public transportation system, including buses, trams, and the Metro. (There's also ride-share options if you feel like treating yourself!)

• Walking is often the best way to explore the historic center, but allow extra travel time during busy periods.

• Use licensed taxis or reputable ride services when needed.

Safety and Practical Advice

• Stay aware of your surroundings, particularly in crowded tourist areas and on public transportation.

• Keep valuables secure and avoid carrying large amounts of cash.

• Save the address of your hotel and conference venue on your phone.

• Learn a few basic Italian phrases such as "Buongiorno" (Good morning), "Grazie" (Thank you), and "Per favore" (Please). English is spoken in many tourist areas, but a few local phrases are always appreciated.

Visiting Churches

• Maintain respectful behavior during liturgies and prayer times.
