The "Voice of the Unborn" bell (Vox Nasciturus)

The "Voice of the Unborn" bell (Vox Nasciturus), weighing one ton, was cast in Jan Felczyński's Professional Bell-Foundry Studio in Przemyśl, Poland.

It was created under the initiative of the "Yes to Life" Foundation of Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, partners of MaterCare International. The bell will be placed in the parish of All Saints in Kolbuszowa, but it will not be permanently installed as it will travel throughout Poland during marches and prolife events. This bell is intended to sound a plea to the conscience, make people aware of the fate of millions of children killed before birth around the world. The idea for this project arose at the beginning of this year. The initiator of this work and its main executor is foundation Vice President, Bogdan Romaniuk.

In history and tradition, bells were tolled when misfortune, fire or war came. It was a clarion call. The powerful sound of this bell will ring on behalf of those who themselves do not have a voice, innocent, defenceless lives threatened with death pleading: Save our lives, Do not kill us. They are sentenced to death, some because they have diseases, others congenital defects, or many simply because they were conceived at an inconvenient time.

Bells are also tolled for prayer; This bell will toll for prayer for the lives of the unborn. It will toll for parents considering abortion, lest they do so. It will toll for doctors to finally admit that killing an unborn child is contrary to their professional ethos, their calling, and their vocation. In addition, it will toll in prayer for the medical administrations, asking they not compromise the medical staff to break with their conscience, and for the legislative authorities to protect the unborn through appropriate legal acts.

“The bells usually call for the "Angelus" prayer. This prayer refers to the blessed motherhood of Mary. Hearing the bell, we will ask God that each mother, when she learns about her motherhood, accept it, as Our Lady did,” says Professor Bogdan Chazan, Foundation President.

The Angelus

The Angel of the Lord declared to Mary:

And she conceived of the Holy Spirit.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee; blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Behold the handmaid of the Lord: Be it done unto me according to Thy word.

Hail Mary...

And the Word was made Flesh: And dwelt among us.

Hail Mary...

Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray:

Pour forth, we beseech Thee, O Lord, Thy grace into our hearts; that we, to whom the incarnation of Christ, Thy Son, was made known by the message of an angel, may by His Passion and Cross be brought to the glory of His Resurrection, through the same Christ Our Lord.

Amen.

'Hail, full of grace, the Lord is with you' (Lk 1: 28)

'Blessed are you among women,

and blessed is the fruit of your womb'

(Lk 1: 42).
