Merry Christmas!

Dear Friends and Colleagues,

This year we have had the pleasure of reviewing new project proposals for work in Uganda and Rwanda. We also hosted our 10th Biennial Rome Conference, our 15th International Conference, and Dr. Robert Walley was invited to present the Keynote Address at Poland’s “Science in the Service of Life” International Congress. Our completed hospital, the St. John Paul II MaterCare Maternity Hospital, in Isiolo, Kenya continues to serve women and their communities, including delivering our first set of triplets in 2018. We have set our goals high for success in 2020!

NEW POTENTIAL PROJECTS FOR MATERCARE:

The maternal mortality ratio (MMR) is the number of maternal deaths per 100,000 live births per year. According to World Health Organization 2017 reports, the MMR in Rwanda is 184 to 387 deaths per 100,000 live births, Uganda's ratio has consistently been high at 278 to 523 deaths per 100,000 live births. These rates increase in rural areas without access to obstetrical care. To put this in perspective, the Canadian ratio is 10 deaths per 100,000.

We are currently raising funds for potential maternal health projects in Uganda and Rwanda

TOGETHER, we CAN save the lives of mothers and their children.

By becoming part of our giving community, you are ensuring that mothers and their families receive the best possible care to overcome preventable maternal deaths through access to essential obstetrics. Join today!

Wishing you and yours a very Happy and Holy Christmas!

Sincerely,

Dr. Robert Walley, Founder and Executive Director
