Speaking at our 2019 Rome Conference this September, we welcome Dr. Henrietta Maria Williams, Chief Medical Director of the Fertility Care Services of Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria. She is the first of many Fertility Care Medical Consultants and Fertility Care practitioners from the continent of Africa. Her passion in life is integrating the harmonious unity of the truths of the Catholic Faith into mainstream medical practice. Her medical training and residency from 1968 to 1991 was from the University College London, the Lagos University Teaching Hospital Nigeria, and the Royal Postgraduate College of Obstetrics and Gynecology in London in the United Kingdom. Subsequently, in obedience to a request from her parish priest to teach Natural Family Planning to couples being prepared for marriage she was led to the discovery of Pope Paul VI`s prophetic encyclical, Humanae vitae. This motivated a five year course in Catholic Theology at Maryvale College in Birmingham, United Kingdom, from where she proceeded to the Pope Paul VI Institute for the Study of Human Reproduction in Omaha, Nebraska in 2003. She became the first African Certified Fertility Care Medical Consultant and Fertility Care practitioner in 2004 and is the current chairperson of the Fertility Care Centres of Africa. She is married with 4 children and 4 grandsons. Welcome Dr. Williams!
