MaterCare has been endorsed by many highly reguarded international figures, including:
His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI
MaterCare International (MCI) was deeply saddened to learn of the tragic aircrash which took the lives of President Lech Kaczynski, his wife Mrs Maria Kaczynska and 87 other members of the government, the Sejm, the civil service, the military, and the church.
In particular we mourn the loss of the first lady of Poland and MCI's first patron. It was on February 18th that Professor Bogdan and I met with Mrs Kaczynska and during a very cordial visit the work of MCI was discussed, in particular the projects in Isiolo, Kenya and Port au Prince, Haiti. The First Lady (Letter in Polish) (English translation) gave her full support and agreed to be a Patron.
Following this meeting we also met with Mr Wladyslaw Stasiak, Minister of the Presidential Office, who also died in the accident, who had also expressed interest as well offering the help the project in Isiolo with the donation of equipment.
The Council, and administrative board of MCI sends its deepest sympathy and prayerful condolences to the President's family, to the Mr Stasiak's family and to the families of all those lost in the tragic accident and to all the people of Poland.
